honor 10 review battery

Honor has a number of great offerings out there that cover all ranges of phones and budgets. From low-end phones, to flagships that make your mouth water, Honor is killing it. There’s also a little confusion among the models of phones, since 8 came before 7, and 9 is better than 10, so we put together a breakdown of the best Honor phones out there to help you sort through them.

Honor is one of the few companies to bring dual rear cameras to the ultra-affordable price range, with both the Honor 7A and 7C smartphones coming with a 13MP + 2MP setup. Like all the new smartphones being released, both the Honor 7A and 7C also feature displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Both phones also come with 32GB of built-in storage, 3GB of RAM, and 3,000mAh batteries. There is also a 4GB of RAM iteration of the Honor 7C.

There are a few key differences between the two though. The Honor 7C features a larger 5.99-inch display, while the 7A comes with a 5.7-inch screen. It may not seem like a big difference, but users may appreciate the slightly more comfortable handling experience that is available with the latter.

The Honor 7C is not only bigger but also more powerful, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor under the hood. On the other hand, the Honor 7A features the Snapdragon 430 processor. A version of the Honor 7C with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage has also been announced.

If you liked the look of the Huawei P20 Pro, but didn’t fancy the price, then the Honor 10 is a solid alternative. It packs the same Kirin CPU as the P20, has an excellent FHD+ screen and a premium design that makes it look and feel way more expensive than it is.

The Honor 10 is a baby Huawei P20 aimed at the £400-500 mid-range phone market. It follows the same tried and tested pattern as the Honor 9 , stripping the more expensive aspects of Huawei’s current flagship, while retaining its core design features and hardware to offer a great-value smartphone.

The strategy worked a treat on the Honor 9, which was one of 2017’s best mid-range phones – and it generally still works out for the Honor 10. This phone has a pretty, albeit slightly flashy, mixed metal and glass design, a top-end Kirin CPU and solid battery life.

Honor made a huge deal about the 10’s design during its London launch. Specifically it claims to have achieved the super-polished, ridiculously blue finish by stacking more than 15 layers of glass over each other.

Here's an Android phone that none of my friends and family have ever heard of, has fast and responsive performance, a long-lasting battery, and costs hundreds less than the best Android phones such as Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 and Google's Pixel 3 .

And (yes, there's more) the View 20 comes with a refreshingly original glass back design that glimmers at different angles and is one of the first phones with a " hole-punch " display instead of a screen with a notch.

I didn't have to dig deep to figure out what the View 20 reminded me of: OnePlus . Honor is what OnePlus was a few years ago and the surprisingly good View 20 is the phone with the potential to put the company on the global map and let it stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other mobile giants.

The View 20 launched in late 2018, but only in China. It's launching in the rest of Asia and Europe throughout 2019. But like all Huawei phones (fun fact: Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei !), the View 20 has no U.S. release date (yet).

Huawei and its sub-brand Honor has got back in the smartphone business last year as both the brands launched some of the very popular smartphones of the year. 2019 has also started off pretty well for Huawei and Honor. Huawei recently launched the Y9 (2018) while Honor launched the Honor 10 Lite in India. Interestingly with both the smartphones the respective companies are aiming to take on the likes of some of the very popular budget segment smartphones like Redmi Note 6 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Realme 2 Pro, among others.

The Honor 10 Lite has been launched at the same price as the Redmi Note 6 Pro, at Rs 13,999. The Huawei Y9 (2019), on the other hand, is now available for Rs 15,990. Let’s take a quick look at what both of these smartphones offer to the consumers and which one is a better buy for around Rs 15,000.

The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes with a bigger screen than the Honor 10 Lite. The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes packed with a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. In comparison, the Honor 10 Lite includes a 6.21-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. Also, both the smartphones feature a glass back which make them look premium in the mid-range segment.

The Honor 10 Lite is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while the top-end model of the phone includes 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Huawei Y9 (2019) is also powered by the same 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 chipset. The Honor 10 Lite like some previously launched Honor phones also comes with GPU Turbo support. The phone comes in one variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage which is further expandable via micro SD card. The Honor 10 Lite is backed by a 3400mAh battery while the Huawei Y9 2019 is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
